I hold a BA in Musicology, an MA in Musicology and Semiotics, and a PhD in Cognitive Semiotics.

Cognitive Semiotics can be understood as an analytical (hence the semiotics) approach to the theories and research of Cognitive Science - or "hard science" - on the human mind.

My personal work was a study on Musicality seen as as meaningful interaction between human beings on the mental level.

As an artist and a scientist, I look on music as an expression of consciousness shared on  a number of levels: an emotional level, a cultural level, the level of embodiment, and - not least - the level of the soul. Music is a unique way of sharing the experience of consciousness.

Linking experience and consciousness in music connects the artistic to the scientific domain.
